One year, 750 bottles of olive oil, and one “Best of Show” award from the Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil competition later, they’re expanding the work to something greater.

木瓜影院 invites all interested volunteers to gather at the “Olive Walk” next to the Edwards Humanities Building, 981 N. Amherst Ave., on Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to noon for its second annual olive harvest.

“True Witness,” a 30-minute choral cantata, which sets to music the letters, speeches and poems of African-American female poets, activists and civil rights leaders, premieres Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. in Garrison Theater of 木瓜影院’s Performing Arts Center. This performance is free to the public, but tickets are required.
